3D design concept rendering of a San Diego home remodel taking shape

HomeFAQ

Every great remodel starts with good questions.

Straight answers about budgets, timelines, permits, design, and what it’s actually like to remodel with Noble.

Getting started

First steps with Noble.

How a project begins, and how to choose the right team for it.

Start with a call to (858) 977-0998 or the estimate form on this page. We schedule a free consultation, walk your space together, listen to what you are imagining, and follow up with a clear written estimate. There is no cost and no obligation.

A real conversation, not a sales pitch. We walk your home, talk about how you live in the space, and discuss scope, priorities, and budget honestly. You leave with a clear sense of what your project involves and what the next steps look like.

Look past the price alone. Ask for an itemized scope rather than a single lump sum, a written schedule, and a clear answer on who manages your project day to day. Pay attention to how carefully a team listens before they quote — the way a contractor communicates before the contract is the way they will communicate during the build.

Budget & pricing

Honest answers about money.

No two homes are alike, so no two budgets are either. Here’s how we think about it.

Every project is scoped individually — cost depends on the size of the space, the materials you select, and whether the layout or structure changes. Rather than quoting averages, we would rather look at your actual home and give you a real number. The consultation and the detailed estimate are always free. For context on what drives a kitchen budget, our San Diego kitchen cost guide breaks it down.

The scope is built in detail before construction begins, and pricing follows the scope. If you decide to change something mid-project, or opening a wall reveals something no one could have seen, the adjustment is documented in a written change order you review and approve before any extra work happens — so the final invoice never carries a surprise you did not sign off on.

Budget ranges simply help the conversation. Knowing roughly where you would like to land lets us steer layout and material decisions toward options that make sense for you, instead of designing something twice. And if you are not sure yet, “Not sure yet” is a perfectly good answer.

Process & timeline

How long it really takes.

Realistic schedules, set before demolition — not discovered after it.

Most full kitchen remodels run about 6 to 8 weeks of on-site work once materials arrive, preceded by several weeks of design, selections, and ordering. You receive a detailed schedule before demolition begins, so you always know what happens next.

A typical full bathroom remodel runs about 3 to 5 weeks on site. Waterproofing, tile work, and proper curing times are built into the schedule rather than rushed — that is what keeps a bathroom beautiful years later.

Larger projects vary widely with square footage, structural work, and permitting, so most whole-home remodels and additions run several months from design through final walkthrough. We build a phased schedule at the start, so you always know what is happening now and what comes next.

For most kitchen and bathroom remodels, yes. We contain dust with barriers, protect floors and walkways, and leave the jobsite organized at the end of every day. For whole-home projects we talk honestly about whether staying makes sense for your family — sometimes it does, and sometimes a few weeks away is the happier choice.

Design, permits & your home

The details behind the build.

Who designs, who pulls the permits, and how your house is treated along the way.

Yes. Noble is a design-build team, which means one group carries your project from concept to completion. Layout, selections, and construction are coordinated by the same people, so nothing gets lost in a hand-off between a designer and a builder.

Yes. We manage permitting, plan submittals, and inspections, so your project meets San Diego building codes and California Title 24 energy requirements from the first drawing to the final sign-off.

With the same discipline we bring to the build itself. Floor and surface protection goes down before tools come out, dust is contained with barriers, the work area is tidied at the end of each day, and the site is secured every evening. A remodel is disruptive enough — the mess should not follow you through the house.

We remodel homes across San Diego County — La Jolla, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, Coronado, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Pacific Beach, and the city of San Diego — and we also take on projects in Poway, Chula Vista, and across North County. If you are not sure whether we cover your neighborhood, just ask. See every community on our service areas page.
